Consuming whole foods is the preferable way to obtain nutrients, but if patients (such as those with critical illness undergoing treatment or convalescence following major surgery) or older adults are having difficulty consuming adequate nutrients through meals, considering supplementation with powders may make sense. For e.g., according to a clinical nutrition practice guidelines, the estimated energy and protein requirements for intensive care and surgical patients is approximately (~) 25 to 30 kcal/kg/day and 1.2 to 1.5 g/kg/day ideal body weight, respectively. This means a patient with mild to moderate stress weighing 60 kg will require ~1500 to1800 kcal energy and ~72 to 90 gm protein per day which can be met with 8 servings (a tin) of HINEX ST that will provide ~1792 kcal of energy and ~76 gm of protein (after reconstitution). Each ml of HINEX ST provides 1 kcal energy, making caloric intake easy to calculate.
HINEX ST comprises a blend of three high-quality proteins – namely, casein, whey protein isolate and soy protein isolate, which includes essential and non-essential amino acids necessary for body’s growth and repair works and maintenance of good health. HINEX ST contains healthy fat blend, i.e., monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFA), polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), trans-fat free that supports heart health and helps manage metabolic syndrome by favourably influencing numerous metabolic and vascular parameters including blood lipids, blood pressure, coagulation, endothelial activation, inflammation, and thermogenic capacity.
HINEX ST contains prebiotic fibre FOS. Prebiotics are digestion-resistant fibres (short-chain carbohydrates) that are selectively fermented by specific genera of colonic bacteria to produce metabolites, which helps modulate human gut microbiota. Evidence suggests prebiotic health benefits are attributed to immune modulation and bacterial metabolite production (short‐chain fatty acid production), which helps improve gut integrity and functions, and prevent or postpone diet-related diseases.
Lack of miscibility of powder supplement in water / milk leads to formation of lumps. HINEX ST powder blends well with water and milk and is good to taste (delicious vanilla flavour).
Instruction for use: For 1 serving
Step 1: To prepare 224 mL feed, take 185 mL of potable water in a glass.
Step 2: Add 4 level scoops (approx. 50 g) of HINEX ST. Use the scoop provided along with jar.
